Sabal Palms are known for withstanding even the strongest storms because of their interconnected root systems, which provide strength, flexibility, and support. At Sabal Palm Psychology, this reflects our belief that healing and growth happen through the strong foundations and meaningful connections we build. Therapy is a space to strengthen those roots so you can weather life's challenges with resilience.

Services

  • Therapy

We offer individual, family, and parenting therapy in a comfortable, warm, and inviting space where children, teens, and adults can come to heal, learn, and grow. We incorporate play therapy, art, and other activities into evidenced-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Mindfulness based approaches to address problem behaviors and symptoms related to mental health disorders. Therapy can be helpful in addressing emotional and behavioral concerns such as depression, anxiety, defiance, ADHD, trauma, and/or life transitions. Telehealth therapy services also offered to PSYPACT participating states.

  • Pediatric Health Psychology

Pediatric psychology is a subfield of child clinical psychology. We provide pediatric psychological services to children and their families to address emotional, physical, and cognitive aspects of various pediatric health conditions. Evidence-based therapy interventions are available that address concerns related to chronic illness, such as improve adherence, adjustment, coping, post-surgical outcomes, and family functioning, as well as decrease high-risk health behaviors. We also use approaches such as Health at Every Size (HAES), Intuitive Eating, and Solution oriented approaches.

  • Psychological and Psychoeducational Evaluations

Some children struggle in a specific subject at school, have trouble staying focused, get distracted easily, or find it difficult to navigate social situations. There are many reasons your child may be struggling in different areas of life and comprehensive evaluations can be helpful in identifying the underlying causes. You will receive specific recommendations and learn about supports available to assist your child. Evaluation services include gifted testing, learning disorders, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), developmental delay concerns, and mood or behavior disorders.
